The spread of invasive species is one of the most important causes of species extinction, along with climate change and habitat loss. They take over territories, crowd out native species and change our landscapes forever.
Paradoxically, many of them are still deliberately planted by people. They say “Beautiful honeydew”, “It flowers beautifully”, “This is cheap and high-quality wood” or “Potatoes and tomatoes are not local either, but they are grown?”.
Aggressors are distinguished among non-native species by their ability to spread uncontrollably in the wild, displacing everything (or almost everything) native that has grown here for thousands of years.
