Let’s take another step towards cleaning up the newly created reserve “Coast of the Transcarpathian Sea”

August 11, 2023
Already this weekend, the Danube-Carpathian Program, together with the Chysto.de eco-family and with the partial support of the Whitley Fund for Nature, will take another step towards cleaning up the newly created “Bereg Transcarpathian Sea” reserve.
On August 12-13, in Vilshany, in addition to the traditional cleaning of the shore, we will jointly, in the circle of scientists, activists, and volunteers, discuss plans for
further development of the landscape reserve “Coast of the Transcarpathian Sea,”
preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of this territory,
and also about promoting and developing conscious ecotourism for the sustainable development of communities.

The war in Ukraine continues. Our most important task today is to liberate Ukraine from the occupiers and save as many Ukrainian lives as possible. In such conditions, the issue of environmental protection cannot be a priority, and resources for it (both human and financial) are extremely scarce. But even in such conditions, we have no right to lose our natural heritage.

“The natural values of the Carpathians are our joint responsibility for conservation. In conditions of limited resources and opportunities, our strength can be the unification for a common cause – both activists and volunteers, and the cooperation of public organizations, in order to achieve a common goal and preserve the natural heritage and the most valuable natural territories of Ukraine,” says Bohdan Prots, head NGO “Danube-Carpathian Program”.
