Have you ever wondered what happens to dams that are no longer needed? If a mountain river and its surrounding community were restored to free flow, how might their lives be transformed?

Last summer, the Danube-Carpathian Programme, in collaboration with the reserve, liberated three tributaries of the Tisza River from artificial structures. Among them is the Kvasnyi stream. Last year, the dam was removed here, and the flow returned to its natural channel. This is what has changed.
