Real wild nature 20 km from Lviv: ancient beech forests, practically unchanged by man. The forests of the “Roztochchia” nature reserve are included in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites “Primitive beech forests and ancient forests of the Carpathians and other regions of Europe”. You can get here only accompanied by park workers, because such forests are closed to tourism and require strict supervision and preservation.
Meanwhile, dozens of areas of ancient forests in Ukraine, similar in their value, can be cut down at any moment. Despite the appeals of experts, many of these forests still do not have nature protection status and are only industrial forests according to documents.
Despite delays, sabotage and open opposition, we are constantly working to win as many of the most valuable plots as possible protection, according to the law.
Thank you to the “Rostochcha” Nature Reserve for preserving this UNESCO cluster!
