Webinar “Agriculture in Times of War: Ukrainian Farmers’ Resilience and the Road Ahead”

March 31, 2026

On 5 March 2026, the international webinar “Agriculture in Times of War: Ukrainian Farmers’ Resilience and the Road Ahead” took place, focusing on the challenges faced by Ukrainian agriculture during the war and the resilience of farmers working under these conditions.

During the event, experts, researchers and farmers from Ukraine discussed the impact of the war on the agricultural sector and the environment, challenges faced by small farms and agroforestry initiatives, the problem of contaminated and mined agricultural land, as well as the recovery of farming and support for women farmers and veterans. Particular attention was given to practical strategies that help farmers remain resilient and continue their work during wartime.

The speakers included experts from the Danube-Carpathian Programme, researchers and Ukrainian farmers who shared their firsthand experience of farming during the war.

The webinar was organised by Eurosite together with the Danube-Carpathian Programme, with the support of the Erasmus+ project.

The recording of the webinar is available here:
